It's the end of an era for several familiar TV faces. Katie Couric signed off from her role at the CBS news desk this week. Oprah Winfrey is preparing to end her talk show next week. Meredith Vieira announced she's stepping down from 'Today' in June. Now longtime 'Entertainment Tonight' host Mary Hart taped her final show Thursday and said farewell to her TV home.
Hart, who hosted the entertainment news show for almost 30 years, was surprised by former co-hosts Bob Goen, Rob Weller, John Tesh and current 'ET' co-host Mark Steines, who all gathered together to help bid her farewell.
Hart, 60, who will be replaced by 'ET' correspondent Nancy O'Dell, also received a surprise serenade by Natalie Cole, who sang 'Unforgettable' at the goodbye party.
Hart announced her decision to leave 'ET' last summer, claiming she had reached a point in her career where she wanted to try different things.
"It will certainly be with mixed sentiments that I say 'goodbye' at the end of the season, but it will definitely be with a sense of celebration ... 30 years of Entertainment Tonight, are you kidding me?" she said when she announced her decision. "That's an accomplishment and something I'm very proud of!"
